  • Congratulations on taking this powerful next step towards transformation! At Aligned Therapy Collective Texas, we’re committed to creating a therapeutic experience that puts our clients first. From the moment you book a consultation, to our first meeting, we want you to feel safe and supported. You are not alone.

    • Session Frequency: Typically, sessions last between 50 minutes and clients often attend sessions once per week.

    • Intake Session: The first session or two is spent gathering information about why you’re seeking therapy, what your goals are, information about symptoms you may be experiencing, and some background information about your life experiences.

    • Assessment & Treatment Plans: Together, we’ll collaborate on unique treatment plans that fit your specific needs and align those with our therapy goals. We help teach our clients valuable tools to manage their difficult thoughts and feelings, while calming their central nervous system. Our goal is to create ease and healing so you finish each session with a renewed sense of hope and realignment with your self.

    • Session Focus: As sessions continue, you’ll bring in whatever is on your mind that day including difficult thoughts or feelings you want to discuss. This can include topics like work stress, life transitions, relationship issues, family issues, identity struggles, sex, body image—nothing is off the table in therapy!

Taking the first step towards managing your mental health is brave. Welcome to Aligned Therapy Collective, we look forward to supporting you on your healing journey!

  • No. We do not accept insurance because it requires a formal diagnosis on all billing documents, which becomes part of your permanent medical record. This diagnosis may be interpreted in ways that do not fully reflect your mental health and could have unknown future impacts.

However, we can provide documentation in the form of a superbill for you to submit to your insurance for potential Out-of-Network reimbursement.

You may also use an HSA/FSA to pay for sessions. Please check with your provider for benefits by asking the following questions:

    • Do I have out of network mental health benefits? If yes, what percentage will be reimbursed to me?

    • Can I use these benefits for Telehealth (virtual) sessions?

    • What is my deductible for out-of-network coverage and has it been met?

    • What is the best way to submit claims for reimbursement?Description text goes here

  • Alyssa will be certified in EMDR in July 2025.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is one of several tools we use to help clients heal from past wounds. It’s particularly helpful if you feel “stuck” in old memories, reactions, or patterns that aren’t shifting through talk therapy alone.

That said, EMDR isn’t the only path to healing. We’ll collaborate together to figure out what approach feels safest and most supportive for you—whether that’s EMDR, relational talk therapy, mindfulness-based tools, or a combination of modalities. You’ll never be pressured or rushed. It’s your healing process, and you’re in charge.Item description

  • Trauma-informed therapy isn’t about rehashing everything that’s ever happened to you. It’s about helping you understand how past experiences—especially the ones that felt like “no big deal” or that you minimized—are still shaping how you think, feel, and show up in relationships today.

We’ll move at your pace. Once you’re feeling safe and like you have the proper grounding skills for emotional overwhelm, we’ll look at old patterns, beliefs, and nervous system responses with curiosity —not judgment. The goal isn’t to live in the past—it’s to help you release what’s no longer serving you so you can feel more grounded and free in the present.

  • Absolutely.

At ATC, we understand that trauma doesn’t always look like a single event or dramatic story. Sometimes, it’s the quieter wounds—the childhood emotional neglect, the pressure to always be responsible, or the feeling that your needs didn’t matter—that shape how you show up today.

You don’t need a specific label to know that something from your past still affects how you feel and relate to others.

Whether you’ve experienced clear trauma or are simply noticing patterns of anxiety, perfectionism, or self-criticism that may stem back to your past, this is a place to explore and heal those deeper layers.

  • Yes! we are affirming and celebratory of all identities, sexual orientations, gender expressions, and relationships including non-monogamy and polyamory. • Yes! We see all couples in all types of relationships - dating, married, monogamous, non-monogamous, polyamorous, etc.

  • We can offer clinical DSM5-TR assessment, comprehensive treatment plans, SMART long & short-term goals, and psychological assessment (as needed) to track symptom management including PHQ-9, GAD-7, MSI-R, MMPI, etc) if requested.

We do NOT provide assessments for ADHD or neurodivergence/autism—we will refer you to a clinical psychologist or psychiatrist for this type of assessment.

  • Much research evidence affirms that the most important factor in client success is the quality of the relationship between a counselor and a client. This is more of a determination of success than the specific technique of the therapist, the level of expertise of the counselor, or the level of knowledge the client has been able to attain. That’s why if the “fit” doesn’t feel right - it is totally normal, and recommended, to continue to interview therapists until you find the right personality fit!
